I met Hesham only briefly, but was disarmed by his warm smile and gentle demeanor. The only ASAP member from the Middle East attending the 2014 ASAP Global Alliance Summit in Scottsdale, Ariz. USA, Hesham was sort of a lone wolf. (Note: contrary to fabled depictions of wolves, the creatures are actually quite docile. But, I digress…)
I had hoped to spend more time getting to know the Ecosystems Manager from Elm, a company owned by the investment arm of the Saudi Ministry of Finance. The company designs tech solutions and electronic services to transform traditional public services to meet today’s modern lifestyles. However, I was running hither and yon trying to learn everything possible about alliance management during the Summit.
Hesham and I reconnected by email later in the month. Among other things, he told me, “Our priority is to raise the bar of public e-service and provide better customer service experience.” Like some of the best alliance professionals, Hesham is a pioneer.
