Top Honors for Silicon Valley/NorCal Chapter of Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals at 2007 Global Summit

ASAP’s first-ever Chapter Leadership Award for Continued Excellence acknowledges the Silicon Valley/Northern California chapter’s sustained excellence and continued growth.

San Jose, Calif. , Feb. 28, 2007 -- The Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP) presented top honors to the Silicon Valley/Northern California chapter of ASAP during the Alliance Awards of Excellence Dinner at the association’s Annual Global Summit earlier this month.

The Silicon Valley/Northern California chapter was formed in 2002 and has grown to be ASAP’s largest chapter, with industry-leading sponsors that include BEA, BMC, Hyperion, Symantec, Verisign and Yahoo. Since its inception the chapter has consistently offered programs that deliver both educational and networking opportunities to members and has continued to expand and enhance the quality and variety of its programs to bring value to members.

Best practices workshops, executive breakfasts and networking lunches for the general membership are among the recent additions to the chapter’s regular event calendar. The chapter has also piloted affiliate and partner marketing programs with other local professional organizations such as SD Forum, SVASE, SVAMA, the Stanford Graduate School of Business Alumni Association and APICS.

“Receiving ASAP’s Chapter Leadership Award for Continued Excellence validates everything the chapter has set out to accomplish in terms of member access to alliance best practices, targeted programs, and membership and sponsorship growth through our outreach in high technology and biotech,” said Thomas Incorvia, chapter president and director of product alliances at Borland Software Corporation. “It was an honor to accept this prestigious award, which could never have been achieved without the strong leadership of previous chapter presidents and our highly committed and energetic volunteers.”

The Silicon Valley/NorCal chapter was previously recognized for its achievements when it earned ASAP’s Chapter of the Year award in both 2003 and 2004.
