It is widely held that Cloud Computing is the next big "disruptive change" with far-reaching effects that could require the complete re-engineering of traditional supply chains and the role of alliances within them.
At this forthcoming Open Event, we are privileged to have senior representatives from both HP and Microsoft presenting their perspectives on Cloud. They will set the scene for a Panel discussion to explore the impact on the Alliances function of this major shift in our industry.
- Ian Jones, Head of Publishing & Content, The National Computing Centre, will explore the role and types of technology that will emerge post recession, from the perspective of the CIO. This centres around cloud computing.
- Dr John Manley, Director, Automated Infrastructure Laboratory, HP Labs, will take a 3-10 year forward look at the technologies involved in Cloud and the implications of their widespread adoption on traditional computing models;
- Alistair Beagley, Business Manager, Cloud Service and Innovation Partner Team, Microsoft (UK), will explore the Microsoft vision as deployment of Cloud impacts the marketplace, and assess the likely impact on traditional routes to market and value chains, with special focus on the need for alliance working.
There will then be an opportunity to explore this vital topic in an interactive Q and A Panel session. The meeting will conclude with informal networking over refreshments.
