Do you have Detractors in your alliance?  Would you rather have Cheerleaders and Champions? Identifying who is aligned, who is not, and why is key.  Clarifying the interests of stakeholders and addressing how alliance performance reinforces or detracts from stakeholder accountability helps you to form strategies to encourage alignment. Alliance managers informally report that between 50 and 70 percent of their time is dedicated to managing the internal alliance—trying to get colleagues across their company to understand the goals of a given collaboration, recognize how it contributes to both corporate value and individual objectives, and support and invest in that alliance as a high priority.

This session will present a tool, adapted from the Apostle Loyalty model, that is helpful in assessing and visually representing internal alignment to the team mission, and show how it is used to help managers formulate strategies and tactics to create stronger alignment and commitment to the alliance across their company.

The presentation will also:

  • Share real-world experiences in managing detractors, captives, champions, and cheerleaders.
  • Create an objective visual assessment to stakeholder alignment
  • Prescribe steps to enhance alliance results
  •  Highlight Aha! moments
