In many organizations, Alliance Managers (AMs) and Project Managers (PMs) play key roles in the success of an alliance. This event brings together a cross-functional and cross-industry panel of Alliance and Project managers who will share best practices on successful AM & PM collaboration.
In her 2010 paper, Kendra Eager wrote, “The collaboration of the dedicated alliance manager and the project manager offers a unique opportunity to leverage resources within the organization.... Paramount to the success of the [alliance] is the special association and liaison between the alliance manager and project manager.”
Depending on your industry, you may already experience the powerful partnership between AM and PM. In some organizations the roles are very distinct, in others the roles are carried out by the same individual. Sometimes the Product Manager plays a key role. In nearly all environments there is an opportunity to improve.
Some of the topics include:
- How AMs and PMs define their roles and collaborate in an alliance environment.
- How to approach key alliance issues, such as alignment, conflict resolution, or when things go very wrong with the alliance partner.
- When are AM and PM approaches and practices similar and when do they diverge?
This is a great opportunity to catch up with your Alliance Management colleagues, share some tasty treats, and come away with actionable ideas. Hope to see you there on April 14, and please consider inviting your PM to attend with you!
