The Harvard Business Review warned that the Internet of Things (IoT) is a revolution in business that will upend the strategies of many companies. The new smart, connected devices that are coming on the market require cooperation among device makers, consumer electronic companies, internet providers, and data analytics services, and more. This cooperation is likely to take place in design, standards setting, sales, and the actual provision of the new services. And they will make obsolete some existing ways of doing business.
When new technologies have burst on the market in the past, players have always responded by forming new partnerships and restructuring existing ones. We expect that as a result of the rise of the IoT, companies that did not used to work together now will need to find ways to do so. And existing partnerships may be affected by the industry structure. All this means that, whatever your business, your alliance strategy most likely must respond.
· Do you understand the impact of IoT on your business and your existing partnerships?
· Do you know how to chart new alliances to respond to the revolution?
· Do you stand to gain or lose?
An expert panel will help you think through these issues.
Our panelists from Cisco, Verizon, and Arrow Electronics will examine alliance strategy from all sides of the IoT ecosystem – devices, data services, and communication platform. This promises to be a unique event to learn about one of the hottest areas of business.
