The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects—devices, vehicles, buildings and other items—embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity. This connectivity enables these objects to collect and exchange data. The IoT allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across an existing network infrastructure creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems. This can result in improved efficiency, accuracy and potentially economic benefit.
This connectivity also enables technologies such as smart grids, smart homes, intelligent transportation and smart cities. Each thing is uniquely identifiable through its embedded computing system but is able to interoperate within the existing Internet infrastructure.
How do you define IoT? As IoT is developed and expanded upon, how does it impact Alliances?
Get questions like the following answered as well as much more!
- Is it fad or real? Are there real benefits to IoT? Can you provide example of real world deployments?
- Can you share an example of a strategic alliance in IoT? Key learnings, reasons for success, things in hindsight the alliance partners should have done differently.
- What is the impact of cybersecurity in the world of IoT?
