NE Chapter - Cross Industry Alliances - When Opposites Attract
Tell a Friend About This EventTell a Friend

Until recently it would be hard to imagine high tech companies like Google or IBM partnering with life sciences companies like Sanofi or other healthcare-related institutions, to treat diseases and discover new drug therapies. Or that a semi-conductor company like Analog Devices would be working closely with tomato farmers. Or that a home furnishings retailer like Wayfair would have such a diverse set of partnerships to enhance operations and customer experience.

Despite the value presented by these partnerships, the differences between the organizations can also create real challenges for those who manage them.

Our panel of experts will talk about some exciting examples and implications of alliance activities between seemingly unrelated companies and industries. Moderator David Chapnick, from Vantage Partners' Alliance Management practice, will facilitate the panel discussion and engage the audience to probe topics such as:

  • Managing significant differences between companies (e.g., go to market timelines, strategies, protocols, fundamental operating models)
  • Managing the relationship (governance, making decisions)
  • Handling internal alignment, and other useful themes

Whether managing relationships with different types of companies or not, participants will walk away with actionable insight that will help them to better understand and manage the contrasts between their own company and their partners whom, regardless of differences, share an important common goal.

Please consider inviting your colleagues who contribute to managing your alliances.
