About ASAP's BioPharma Council

The BioPharma Council is the first council to be organized for, and managed by, strategic alliance professionals in the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical industries.

Its mission is to provide a central forum–or platform–for sharing, disseminating and discussing biotech/pharmaceutical alliance management issues, concerns and best practices in order to:

  • Advance the state of the alliance management practice in the biotech/pharma arena.
  • Advance the individual development of members.
  • Establish a formal/informal network of practitioners in the industry.
  • Work together to learn from each other.

This special interest council provides a unique opportunity for knowledge transfer and networking at the grassroots level. Council membership is offered to ASAP members employed by biotech/pharmaceutical companies and related organizations, such as medical device manufacturers, academic medical centers, etc., with overall responsibility for strategic alliances.

Currently the Council meets three times a year, with Council members actively participating on working teams to meet the objectives that are developed by the Members.  For information, contact Sara Melo-Periera, Communications Committee Chair, at smelo-pereira@skila.com (973-889-1300 x253).

Participation in the ASAP BioPharma Council is limited to Full Members of ASAP, who must also meet practitioner qualifications.
