ASAP is making it easier and more efficient for members to secure and register qualification points toward CA-AM or CSAP renewal and to be eligible for the CSAP exam.

Meet the ASAP Staff

Art Canter

Art Canter is the president and CEO for ASAP. In his role, Canter oversees all elements of management of the organization, including resource and program development, corporate and member relations, sales, marketing and general administration. Canter brings more than 20 years of management and leadership experience with a strong focus on strategic planning, marketing, sales, financial and resource management, education, program development, public relations, fund development and government relations. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Haven.

Pam Goodell

As ASAP’s director of operations, Pam Goodell is responsible for most of the association’s day-to-day operations, including marketing, communications, oversight of the CA-AM and CSAP certification programs, and event planning and production.

Pam brings several years of association management, operations, marketing, volunteer coordination, and event planning experience. Prior to joining ASAP, she served for three years as marketing director for the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), an international trade association representing the manufacturers and their suppliers of consumer and commercial outdoor power equipment. This followed a four-year stint as volunteer coordinator at ALIVE! (Alexandrians Involved Ecumenically).

She has also served in marketing and management capacities for COSEP and the International Economic Development Council.

Lori Gold

Lori Gold oversees all aspects of member relations, including recruiting, member benefit development, member program execution, and chapter relations. Lori brings many years of experience working on behalf of member associations to drive the strategic direction and vision for the development, recruitment, and maintenance of their member bases.

Prior to joining ASAP, she served as Director of Member Relations and Sales for the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston where she was responsible for directing and implementing plans and programs designed to enhance the acquisition, retention, and satisfaction of all members.

Lori has also held member services director positions for the Massachusetts Hospital Association and the Massachusetts Biotech Council. At both associations she was accountable for all aspects of corporate membership preservation and growth, as well as driving membership participation and awareness in programs, committees, and member benefits and services. At the former, she served the needs of more than 100 Massachusetts hospitals and health system members, while at Massachusetts Biotech Council she maintained relationships with over 600 member organizations and assisted them in the establishment and development of key partnerships, workforce development, and funding and growth opportunities.

Michele Shannon

Michele Shannon is the program event coordinator for the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP). In her role, she plans and manages operational logistics for all of ASAP Corporate’s conferences, tradeshows and meetings, including its annual Global Alliance Summit, the world’s largest gathering of leading alliance professionals and companies.

Michele brings a variety of meeting planning experience to her current position. Prior to joining ASAP, she has worked at a meeting and event staging company where she drafted new customer agreements and oversaw teams charged with executing all aspects of conferences and meetings on behalf of existing clients. Michele has also previously served as special events supervisor for a software company where she was responsible for the coordination, planning, budgeting, and implementation of sales meetings, user group conferences, and trade shows.
