It pays to think strategically when managing alliances, not just when crafting the initial deal. In his well-received webinar last year, Ben Gomes-Casseres outlined a Deal-to-Alliance process that can help you design alliances upfront for maximum result later on. This webinar will build on that presentation, and go deeper into why and how you need to manage an alliance strategically even after it has been set up. If you liked that webinar, you won't want to miss this one. Ben will spur your thinking on these issues:

  • Five steps to implementing the three laws of remix strategy
  • How to position your firm to capture value from an alliance
  • The role of exclusivity and the risk of co-opetition
  • How value is shared in a multi-party constellation or ecosystem

Bonus: We will make time during the webinar to field any questions you have on the strategic management of alliances. Even better, if you can submit your questions in advance, Ben will try to address them in the presentation.

Like last year's webinar, this one is based on Ben's Harvard Business School book Remix Strategy. Russ Buchanan, chairman emeritus of ASAP, said this book is "the first to explain the critical concepts behind successful business combinations – and provide immediately actionable insights." The book is good pre-reading for the webinar.
