This discussion will highlight how National Grid is expanding its role as a utility by focusing on delivering customer value through innovative solutions. Through strategic partnerships with innovative start-up companies like Sense, National Grid can test and learn from demonstration projects before bringing a solution to scale. The presentation will explore:

About the Speakers

Noel King
Director, Business Development

Noel King is a Director of Business Development at Sense, where he focuses on building partnerships with utilities. Through a smartphone app, Sense's Home Energy Monitor provides customers with real-time visibility into their energy use, helping them manage their energy bills and increase their home awareness.

Noel joined Sense from EnerNOC, where he designed and delivered commercial and industrial demand response programs for utilities. Noel holds a BS in Geology from Yale University and a Masters in Management from MIT's Sloan School.

May Moy
Manager, New Energy Solutions
National Grid

May Moy is a Manager at National Grid's New Energy Solutions' (NES) team. NES is an agile team focused on developing and launching innovative solutions and technologies that unlock value for National Grid's customers and communities and accelerate progress towards a sustainable future.

May is responsible for identifying customer's energy needs and determining the most comprehensive, cost effective and sustainable strategies to fulfill those needs, through innovative partnerships and alliances with key industry players. Her key focus is to lead the development and execution of strategic partnerships to address existing gaps in energy efficiency, alternative fuel vehicles, grid modernization and distributed generation programs for all residential and commercial customers. Prior to this role, May directed the operations of Valley Appliance Merchandising Company (VAMCO), an unregulated subsidiary d/b/a as National Grid Energy Services, which services the water heating and heating needs for gas rental customers in Rhode Island. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University and a M.B.A from Bentley University.
