Alliance Managers have a huge negotiating role.  They have to negotiate directly on behalf of their companies as the main negotiator.  They have to facilitate negotiations where others are the main negotiators.  They have to help negotiation teams prepare.  They have to give advice to negotiators. They need to help partners understand their companies negotiations approach and view.  They are, in other words, professional negotiations.  BUT they need to negotiate – and play different roles in negotiations – within the context of an alliance, with all of the relationship complexity, stakeholder complexity, and content complexity that an alliance entails.  AND while Business Development Professionals often receive negotiation training, all too often the Alliance Manager – who perhaps has to negotiate more and certainly on a more regular basis than many B.D. professionals, often does not.

In this interactive session, Stuart Kliman, Partner and co-Founder of Vantage Partners, will share frameworks, tools and tips, on negotiation for the Alliance Manager and lead chapter members through a series of case studies and discussions focused on how those can be applied to the Alliance Manager's day to day harried, complex and challenging day to day alliance life.
