"Collaboration between competitors is in fashion"

In 1989, Harvard Business Review (HBR) presented this quote in "Collaborate with Your Competitors – and Win" article. This game-changing concept gained popularity in the late 80s. Today, coopetition is a standard challenge in managing alliances across all industries.

Companies choose strategic relationships to deliver new solutions and expand market reach. Those same organizations often have business areas that overlap and are competitive. The ability to navigate these issues within an alliance is a fundamental skill needed by all partner managers.

Event participants will work in small teams to analyze and recommend action plans to address competitive situations that arise in a fictitious alliance based on real world circumstances.  The teams will then compare outcomes and results. This discussion is always lively and informative as teams share their different strategies.

What Attendees Will Learn

  • Step by step feedback on issues raised in response to decisions made
  • Effects of choices on alliance progress towards its goals and objectives
  • Real world best practices that can be incorporated into individual alliance situations
  • Interactive knowledge and experience exchanges among peers
