Alliances in the pharma and biotech industries are on the rise, growing over 80% over the last 10 years. The problem is that as many as 60–70% of these alliances under-perform or even fail. Yet despite such past performance challenges, many companies expect to continue using alliances as a competitive business strategy.

If alliances remain a critical element of corporate strategy, pharma and biotech companies must learn how to create and sustain successful alliance teams. Based on experience working with such companies as Pfizer, BMS, Biogen, EMD Serono and their alliance teams, Lynda McDermott will provide participants with "best practice" learnings and tools relevant to launching and developing successful alliance teams.

As a result of attending this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Understand why developing an alliance team culture is critical for overall alliance success
  • Identify what type of alliance team and governance structure is most appropriate for a specific alliance
  • Develop a plan for launching an alliance team
  • Define alliance management roles and processes for ensuring alliance team success
  • Identify "metrics that matter" for measuring alliance team performance and effectiveness
  • Identify resources for providing ongoing alliance team and leadership competency development
