Position Description:

The Senior Manager, Alliance Management is responsible for assisting in driving alliance management activities in the oncology space by aligning internal strategic direction with alliance behaviors and results and developing relationship and managing external strategic partner, Merck. This includes assisting in implementing key strategic initiatives internally and externally in alignment with Eisai leadership across multiple functions and responsibilities.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining a consolidated project management plan and budget for all activities related to the global commercialization of the collaboration assets in the oncology franchise. This role works with key stakeholders across all critical R&D, pre and post commercialization and manufacturing functions to maintain a consolidated view of the actual and forecasted budget for all activities contained within the project management plans. This role will be required communication, collaboration, and coordination with internal stakeholders in 5 regions, i.e., Americas, Europe Middle East and Africa, China, Asia and Latin America, Japan, especially for headquarter in Japan, as a member of the Global Chief Strategy Officer group.


Coordinate and prepare key agendas, presentations, meeting mins/actions along with Executive Director in Alliance and key stakeholders to ensure successful team meetings and governance committee meetings with external partner, Merck.

Build and maintain document archiving system to store critical Alliance related documentation for collaboration assets.

Ensure site utilization for sharing of the information with the partners.

Coordinate with Eisai global stakeholders from each key functional area (e.g., R&D, medical, translational medicine, global value and access, market research, marketing, sales, manufacturing etc.) in 5 regions, i.e., Americas, Europe Middle East and Africa, China, Asia and Latin America, Japan, to develop Commercialization Plan, Development Plan and Manufacturing Plan etc..

Communicate with Eisai global stakeholders to collect required information and lead internal discussion to consider resolution of any issues and conflict occurred in the alliance, and lead negotiation with external partner along with LPOS team

Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with headquarter in Japan, as a member of the global Chief Strategy Officer group.

Monitors each consolidated project management plan to track and highlight the status of all activities against defined milestones and timelines and identifies any at-risk activities and their estimated impact on the approved indications and launch readiness for new indication.

Compile and coordinates cross functional monthly activity reports for the global Lenvima alliance, Finance, and Alliance team.

Develops and maintains a consolidated global budget showing actual and forecasted spend levels for all expenses in the alliance captured across the annual plan for each Commercialization/Development/Manufacturing.

Periodically reports/presents updates to the approved Commercialization Plan, Development Plan, Manufacturing Plan to senior management.

Required Experience:


Completes all required training.

Participates in required Spark for Change initiatives.

Bachelors Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred; PMP certification is preferred

5+ years relevant experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry

Experience in managing strategic partnerships and/or related role in pharma and/or biotech

Understanding of the drug development to market approval process

Experience in monitoring and maintain multi-project budgets and forecasts

Ability to work independently with strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously

History of working in complex team environments with numerous/diverse stakeholders across the globe

Ability to apply good judgment and lead problem solving within the team

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skill

Proficient with MS Office products, Sharepoint and other technology tools

Ability to work with global colleagues in different time zones across regions
