Alliance Excellence Award for Emerging Alliance, presented to Isomorphic Labs at 2026 ASAP Summit NYC

The recognition highlights how innovative approaches to collaboration, including structured launch preparation and intentional ways of working, can accelerate AI-driven discovery partnerships.

Isomorphic Labs and Novartis have won the ASAP Alliance Excellence Award for an Emerging Alliance. The Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP), a global alliance management professional association, announced the award on April 28, 2026, at the 2026 ASAP Summit NYC. ASAP recognized the alliance for its early-stage governance and launch readiness following the collaboration’s announcement in January 2024.

The Emerging Alliance category recognizes collaborations that apply alliance best practices during strategy development, partner selection, negotiation, launch, and early execution.

“Novartis and Isomorphic Labs stood out for applying practical alliance management methods early, when collaboration habits and governance norms are being set,” said Nicole Boston, CAE, CA-AM, President and CEO of ASAP. “Their approach shows how disciplined launch preparation and intentional ways of working can support fast-moving science and organizational scale.”

Following the collaboration announcement, the joint team used structured launch preparation to align strategic drivers, clarify partner contributions, and map executive sponsorship. Alliance managers developed an alliance roster, conducted executive mapping, recommended governance staffing, and facilitated a structured session to surface early success criteria and potential risks, a process known as a “Wins and Worries” workshop. The parties also established intentional onboarding and shared ways of working, supported by an informal alliance health survey shared with the joint steering committee to inform early course correction. The approach reflects a disciplined effort to build the collaboration’s operating foundation before the pace of scientific work demanded it.

“From the outset, we invested in the launch work that helps teams execute together, including clear decision paths, shared ways of working, and early identification of risks,” said Brooke Paige, CSAP, CA-AM, Global Alliance Management, Neuroscience, Rare Disease & Digital, Novartis. “That foundation supported a rapid transition from agreement to launch and positioned the joint team to deepen the collaboration as we advance the science together.”

“By being intentional about how we work together, we’ve built a strong foundation that enabled significant progress in our first year,” said Fern McSorley, PhD, Head of Portfolio Operations & Alliance Management, Isomorphic Labs. “This success led to the expansion of our collaboration, and we are excited to continue applying our AI-first approach to challenging biological targets, accelerating the discovery of transformative medicines for patients with such a collaborative partner.”
