Alliance management is rarely absent from biopharma partnerships, but it is often misunderstood, introduced too late, or expected to justify its own existence. This conversation picks up a thread already underway among alliance leaders: how the function is understood in hiring, the real risks organizations take when alliance capability is missing or scattered, and why educating leadership and stakeholders is core work, not a courtesy. A short questionnaire ahead of the session will gather the room's own experiences first: what participants bring will shape where the conversation starts as much as anything Samuel brings. Drawing on firsthand experience across small and mid-sized biopharma, Samuel will share what he has seen work, where partnerships quietly drift, and where organizations underestimate risk.
