Pushing the Boundaries of Alliance Management

Lessons from Airline Alliances and M&A - A Fireside Chat

Tuesday, September 14, 2021
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (EDT)
Zoom

Overview

Alliances have evolved to become powerful, industry-shaping tools, but they also have limits. In this "fireside chat" webinar, Roger Maynard, former director of alliances and investments at British Airways, will discuss alliance lessons from the airline industry with BTD Consulting's Nick Palmer.

Roger was a principal architect of the longtime OneWorld Alliance and led the integration of Iberia Airlines into BA and the subsequent formation of the International Airlines Group (IAG). Chartered in February 1999, the OneWorld Alliance has evolved significantly, adding (and losing) partners and spinning off various joint ventures and targeted initiatives.

In this webinar, Roger will discuss what constitutes great alliance management and alliance managers, as well as some of the challenges that face both. He will contrast alliance management and M&A integration management, and he is particularly excited to entertain questions from the ASAP audience in a shared-learning, cross-industry setting.
