In an alliance, knowing your counterpart at the partner company is just step one. Many more people will touch some aspect of the collaboration over time, both at your organization and the partner's. You need to know all the relevant players, all the function heads, all the key senior executives and other alliance stakeholders—and you need to understand who actually makes decisions and how, whom you should be communicating with and how often, and where to go to get important information. Whether the question is "Who else needs to know that?" or "Where do I go to get this approval?," you absolutely must have a good stakeholder map to find your way through the "zoo." In this special webinar, based on a Q1 2023 Strategic Alliance Quarterly article ("All Over the Map," by Jon Lavietes), our alliance executive panelists will explore:
- How to begin creating your map and start connecting the dots between stakeholders
- The importance of understanding the governance and decision-making structures at the partner organization
- Identifying which governance committees need to be informed of and/or approve specific alliance actions
- Figuring out who maps to whom in organizations of disparate sizes, structures, or cultures
ASAP certified members will receive .25 CEUs for attending this program.
