Position Description:

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Department of Strategic and Operational Transformation will be a high performing professional responsible for driving strategy development and execution for large cross-functional initiatives, including execution and transition plans for initiatives to move from strategy to implementation. This role serves as a key leader and partner to The University of North Texas Health Science Center’s Executive Team and other senior leaders across the organization to develop and execute transformation strategies for the university.

Job Duties:

*Serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, the Associate VP will lead analysis, governance, and resolution for significant organizational challenges, to ensure alignment with the institution’s core annual priorities and objectives.
*Provides strategic guidance on, and execution of, all aspects of HSC’s strategy that accomplishes short-term and long-term institutional goals.
*Provides initiative-based business transformation and optimization, including managing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating operations as well as designing business processes and governance structures to ensure the effectiveness of operations and cross-cutting efforts across the enterprise.
*Oversees the development of the institution’s strategic plan and the execution into actionable projects and deliverables within a set timeline.
*Partnering with other senior leaders in the organization, the Associate VP oversees all aspects of the implementation of strategic and new efforts ensuring the leadership team agrees on strategy decisions.
*Oversees the development of cross-functional projects/initiatives, including researching, benchmarking, analyzing data, making recommendations, and creating systems and processes to streamline operations.

Required Experience:

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field. 8 years of healthcare, strategic and project management, leadership, healthcare operations, or process improvement experience. Proven track record as a strategic senior leader in rapidly evolving environments.
Demonstrated experience/success in leadership, strategic planning, process improvement, and operations.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations within higher education. Lean Six Sigma certification. Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills and strong proficiency in effectively putting together presentations and stories depending on the audience and initiative.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analytics skills and analysis background.
